Meet Your Instructor
Hey there! I’m Oscar, and I’ve been hooked on music ever since I first picked up a trumpet at age 7. By the time I hit 13, though, the guitar totally won me over—and we’ve been inseparable ever since. These days, you’ll find me jamming away with my band, ‘The OKE Brothers’, performing at open mics, and teaching others how to get in on the action.
Along with guitar, I’ve been singing my whole life, which adds a little extra flair to my music and teaching style. I also studied trumpet at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music—because why limit yourself to one instrument? Plus, I’ve got a Bachelor of Psychology, so I’ve picked up a few tricks on how people learn best. That means your lessons won’t just be informative—they’ll be tailored to you.
When I’m not running New Note Music, I’m teaching at Apollo Music Academy, where I’ve been sharing my love for guitar since 2023 and managing things as Academy Coordinator. My teaching style is all about combining technical skills with a hands-on, fun approach, so you’ll be rocking out while learning without even realizing how much you’ve improved!
